A Real "Deal".

Time for one of those fun quizzes we like to do around here... this one is automotive related.

Question: What would you pay for this 1963 Pontiac Tempest? Oh.. it has no motor. Or much of anything else... except dents and rust. Oh.. the windshield is plexiglass. (Hmmm. That must be a hint.)
Send your guesses to comments section below. (Googlers are cheaters!) I'll post the answer in a day or two.

  1. hmmm, 63. Probably had a hemi in it originally and perhaps one of about 500 made? :)

  2. wait, not a hemi... what am I thinking! LORD! More like a 454... but that was a Chevy engine. I stick with the assertion that it was a production model of what Pontiac was putting on the track that year.

  3. Thanks for not making me have to correct you ;-) You also didn't answer the question. What would you pay for it.. (and remember: it doesn't have an engine. Or a transmission. When it did, it was a 326cu in. And another hint: believe it or not, strictly speaking, it was not a "production" model.

I may have seen this car race at Detroit Dragway in 1964!

  4. I'd pay $500 for it w/o motor or tranny.

  5. Sounds like it came with a 427 big-block Chevy in it.

Well being it "is" a Super Duty and there was only 11 made I believe it is worth some serious cash. Even more it the engine was in it. I say in its condition 10K

  7. Nope. No big block. See above. I had a commenter on Plaxo who correctly ID'd the car.. but comments on Plaxo stay on Plaxo- they don't show up here. He needs to put it here. BTW... $500 is a tad low ;-)
