"Grapes."

If you don't know who this is, I feel sorry for you. Got a rare chance on Saturday night to watch the Red Wings game on Hockey Night in Canada on CBC out of Windsor, Ontario. After the game we got to see this.. Is that a great suit, or what upholstery? And that's not all.

  1. Holy god! Is that Don Cherry? I miss that crazy little dude from Molson Hockey Night in Canada. He used to do the games with Barry Melrose -- before Barry went all mainstream.

Nice to see the Wings doing well -- and another UM graduate in goal for the Stars.

  2. It is, indeed. He's unhappy with Detroit's style of play... he misses the Proberts and Kocurs... the guys who could scare the other team into losing before they stepped on the ice.

Melrose mainstream?? Not with that mullet.

And Turco played a whole lot better at Yost than he's doing against the Wings. Up 3-0, they should put Dallas out of their misery tomorrow night.

Looking like Wings vs Penguins final. There will be amazing talent on display for that one for sure. Can't wait.

  3. "We have apologized for Barry Melrose's haircut on many previous occasions..."

Marty may not be doing so well right now, but I had season tickets at Yost when UM won the 1996 National Championship -- and he certainly wasn't too shabby. But he had a heck of an offense around him, too.

His career seems a little more established than his predecessor, Steve Shields. But then again, there's a great YouTube video worth watching of Steve fighting fellow goalie Garth Snow from back in 1997.

  4. That's all well and good, but let's not forget why we're here... to celebrate Don Cherry's sartorial splen... no- offenses :-)

What there is nothing odd about this suit? Most Canadians dress like this...
PS the Saturday June 1st, Game four of the Stanley Cup playoffs on NBC is pre-empted by the UVA Charity fund raiser in the Leesburg area. We need another TV station or a NHL Radio station for Saturday night.

  6. Carl?
I'm not concerned about game 4.. that's the one their going to "throw" so they can skate with the Cup on home ice ;-)

Oops they threw game 3 instead. Not sure the city (Detroit) could handle them winning at home with the Michigan economy so bad. They really can't afford all that car tipping and burning that would occur near the Joe if they win at home. Carl, yes, or mister anonymous
